1. What Is Cash Advance®?

Cash Advance® works to connect customers with short-term loan options, which help provide extra cash in times of financial need. Short-term loans are meant to be used only as a last resort option and paid back on or before a borrower’s next paycheck. Loan amounts are typically between $100 and $999.

2. How does the site work?

Customers simply fill out our secure online form, then hit the SUBMIT button. From there, your protected data will only be shared with qualified lenders. If you are matched, you will be presented with the next steps to complete your loan request. Also, typically within a few minutes, you will be contacted by the lender via email or phone. If you are presented with a loan offer, you will have the option to review the terms of the loan, which you may approve or decline.

3. Why Do You Need My Banking Information and Social Security Number?

Because the lenders in our network need to be able to make a decision on whether or not to offer you a loan, banking and social security information is necessary for them to be able to provide you with an answer on your request.

Cash Advance® provides a secure website and we handle all personal information with great care, as described in our Privacy Policy. We are also a member of the Online Lender’s Association (link to new OLA page) and are compliant with all state and federal consumer and credit laws.

4. Is my credit checked?

Cash Advance® does not perform credit checks. However, we cannot guarantee that a credit check or consumer report will not be performed by a lender.

5. What are the rates and terms?

Only a lender can provide you with information on their rates and terms. This will typically happen shortly after your loan request is complete, and you are matched with a lender. Cash Advance® does not make credit decisions or determine rates and terms.

Remember, you are under no obligation to accept the loan offer if the terms are not satisfactory for whatever reason.

6. Why do i keep getting harassing phone calls? is this a scam?

There are many companies that use the term “cash advance” in their brand name, in their marketing, or somewhere on their website. However, do not be fooled. We are Cash Advance® and have always been in good standing, helping millions of customers a year since 1997.

We never charge for our services, and we never collect money from customers. Our service is and will always be free and unlimited to use.

7. Can I Qualify For a Short-Term Loan?

It is easy to qualify for a short-term loan if you meet these basic criteria:

  • You must have had your current job.
  • You must be 18 years of age or older and a citizen or permanent resident of the United States.
  • You must have a take home pay of at least $1,000 a month after taxes.
  • You must have a current phone number and valid email address.

You can request a short-term loan from $100 to $999. The amount you are approved for will be determined by the lender you are matched with.


After your short-term loan is approved the money will be deposited directly into your checking account.

10. Can I Still Get a Short-Term Loan if I Have Bad Credit or a Bankruptcy?

Consumers with bad credit are welcome to submit a short-term loan request on our site. Bankruptcy may be a decisioning factor that lenders in our network use. However, getting a loan with a history of bankruptcy is still possible.

11.  Do I Need a Fax Machine or Printer?

No, you do not need a fax machine or printer in order to use our services. It is advisable to print out your loan contract for your personal records, although it is not required.


Using Cash Advance® is completely free and you can use our matching service as often as needed. The only cost you are responsible for comes after you review and agree to a lender’s terms, by signing a loan contract. Fees associated with the loan will vary depending on your state, the lender, and the amount of your short-term loan.

Short-term loans are designed for emergency cash needs only, and are often less expensive than check fees, late charges, and other costs you might incur from overdue payments. Please make sure you review all terms before accepting a loan offer and always borrow responsibly.

13. If I Already Have a Short-Term Loan Outstanding, Can I Still Qualify?

It depends on the state you are submitting your loan request from. Some states do not allow more than one short-term loan to be outstanding, and lenders will check third party bureaus to see if you have an outstanding loan. You may refer to our State Info page to review your state’s guidelines.

14. How and When Do I Repay the Short-Term Loan?

The amount and fees relating to your loan are withdrawn from your checking account automatically on the due date of your loan. There is no need to make payments or visit any store. You may also request an extension of the loan, if needed, by contacting your lender before the due date. Any extensions on repayment may carry additional fees, depending on the lender.

15. What If I’m Late in Repaying my Short-Term Loan?

The lenders in our network follow different policies regarding late payments. You should review and understand the late payment policy specified in the lender’s loan documents before appending your e-signature, as this constitutes a legal obligation to repay the loan. State laws regarding late payment fees determine how much lenders can charge a delinquent borrower in penalties.

16. How Does the Return Customer Feature Work?

In order to make sure our returning customers experience maximum convenience, we do the work for you! When you return to Cash, locate the Existing Customers login box at the top of our homepage, or visit our Account Center. Then enter your Email and Password we sent you after your first loan request and you will find your next loan request form is already filled out for you. Simply review the information to make sure it is correct, update your next pay dates, and submit the form. It’s that fast and easy! Also, make sure to always keep your Password in a safe place.

17. When Can I Submit a Request For Another Cash Advance?

You can submit a request at any time. Your short-term loan request is always free no matter how many times you submit.


In the Existing Customers login box at the top of the homepage or in the Account Center you will see the link “Forgot your Password?” Simply click and you will be prompted to enter your email address. Your Password will then be emailed to you instantly. If you receive a pop-up saying you are not in the system then you will need to submit a loan request and a Password will be assigned to you.

19. How Do I Check the Status of My Short-Term Loan Request?

You will either receive an email or phone call within a few minutes of submitting your loan request if you have been pre-approved. Be sure to check your email, spam folder, and voicemail. If you need further information, feel free to call customer service at 1-800-380-2274.

20. How Do I Change or Update My Personal Information?

Log into your Account Center and locate the information on the loan request form. Update any information that needs changing and when you submit the loan request this information will then be updated in our system. Also, you may contact us for help with any specific changes.
